Job description
Cash is old school. Out of pocket expenses suck. Workplaces need to be more trusting, progressive and – that's right, we're gonna say it – fun.
Pleo are looking to grow our UK sales team, in our amazing Lisbon Office.
Pretty simply - we need you to help keep spreading the good news of Pleo to the UK and Irish market, and get them to use it.
And what's the product?
We help customers to delegate employee spending through a business spending platform. This ends out of pocket spending, encourages autonomy and trust in employees, and takes a huge burden off the finance team. You'll be selling the SaaS tool (expensing platform) that comes with physical pre-paid cards (so with a fintech twist) that are then distributed to all employees of the company. The best part is we're all users of Pleo ourselves - so it's a very applicable tool. It impacts anyone in a company who could spend money on behalf of their business - be it a coffee with clients or a Mac for a new hire.
What's the role?
The SMB Hybrid Account Executive is expected to retain and grow existing customers, as well as manage their own book of business with the 10-49 segment. This role focuses on managing inbound leads, lead generation to build an outbound portfolio and upselling/cross-selling existing customers through a cycle of qualification, discovery, demonstration, value delivery, negotiation and closing.
Your primary focus is to spread the word about Pleo in the UK & Ireland. Your point of contacts are CFOs, CEOs, MDs, Operations Directors and everyone else who might be the decision maker in regards to the spending policy in SMEs and medium-sized companies.
- Generate new business pipelines and interest through following up on inbound leads
- Be responsible for the full cycle sales: targeting new prospects, closing new businesses and growing revenue from your customer base.
- Speak to, and demonstrate, the value of Pleo products and services
- Discover business initiatives and act as the prospect's internal advocate
- Build a relationship with your top customers to help them grow their business with Pleo.
- Work towards a monthly revenue goal to drive more businesses to adopt Pleo in your target market.
- Demonstrate the business values and functions of the Pleo product to prospect customers.
- Manage a high volume of inbound leads with a strategy on prioritising your leads
- Research and understand various lines of business and personas based on a target vertical.
What we need from you on the first day:
- A background in sales/account management (sales and/ or BDR and SaaS experience preferred).
- Pipeline management and ability to work in a high energy sales environment - Our sales process is dynamic and fast. You are geared to close sales every day!
- Ability to execute email & calling outbound prospecting campaigns
- Ambition - lots of it - and strong inner motivation paired with a positive mindset (it's the key to hitting targets )
- Winning attitude - knowing that there are easy days and hard days and the ability to get through them both
- Exceptional people skills: strong listening abilities, empathy, and genuine and flowing curiosity to learn more about the people you are interacting with
Your colleagues say you:
- Are easy to work with
- Leave no lead unturned
- Are a team player - we have no room for sharp elbows, politics, or egos in Pleo.
- Are a person they would also enjoy having a coffee with (virtual or not) ️
What's in it for me?
- Uncapped commission structure
- Flexible benefits package of €2500 per year; spend it how you like; tennis lessons, more PTO, dental plan.. a new puppy? Whatever makes you happy!
- Onboarding 'Bricks' programme to get you set up for success!
- Full 'Pleo' sales onboarding and continuous coaching, we'll equip you with all the tools you need to hit your targets.
- We're Series C; grow your career in Sales with us or even move to another team, we're open!
- Your own Pleo card (no more out-of-pocket spending) - as a remote worker you get a budget to kit out your home office (no more back problems from your old chair) and a budget to spend on co-working space if you want to get out of your home office!
- Trips abroad for team camps. The last one was in Croatia in September!
- Investment in learning & developing (just check with your team for what's reasonable, we don't have set budgets)
And here are some other nice gestures that we do
- 25 days holiday (annual) + national holiday days
- Loads of weird and wonderful niche communities to join in the company (we're talking guerrilla gardening, liquids tasting, the Pleo band, learning to code initiatives, that type of thing)
- Wild enthusiasm and encouragement from us if you want to host MeetUps, events, etc - we'll help (venue, food etc)
Why join us?
Working at Pleo means you're working on something very exciting: the future of work. Through fintech we've seen a way to impact how people work; we think company spending should be delegated to all employees and teams, that it should be as automated as possible, and that it should drive a culture of responsible spending. Based on some pretty amazing Series C-round investment in 2021 we think we're onto something big.
So, in a nutshell, that's Pleo. Today we are a 800+ team, from over 100 nations, sitting in our Copenhagen HQ, London, Stockholm, Berlin, Madrid, Montreal, or Lisbon offices —and quite a few full-time remotes in 35 other countries! Being HQ'd out of Copenhagen means we're inspired by sensible things like a good work-life balance. If you don't work in the office with us we'll help you get up the best remote setup possible and will fly you in for our amazing team camps ✈️
