Job description
JOB PURPOSE
- You will be part of the factory extended leadership team, leading a team of engineers and operators who are responsible for the maintenance and development of the utilities, services, buildings and facilities in a busy and fast-moving manufacturing site.
- You will be responsible for leading the team to deliver a high reliability level in the systems, following all legal requirements, the company safety, and environmental policies, and contributing to the factory ambitions.
- You will ensure that the team develop and maintain procedures and records for interventions, maintenance, inspections and tests required by legislation and corporate standards.
- You will be responsible for identifying and prioritising issues in the area, escalating when required and getting support needed. Communicate problems, solutions, and options clearly and succinctly.
- You will manage the area budget, including R&M and consumables and actively identify and deliver improvement opportunities, to drive a cost effective operation and maintenance of site utilities and facilities, improving our Safety, Health and Environment metrics.
- Flexible in proactively supporting other areas of the factory when priorities demand.
- Key working relationships include Site Engineering Manager other engineers, maintenance technicians, shift technicians, maintenance planner.
- Background and knowledge in utilities and facilities management
- Knowledge of steam generation systems, ideally with formal qualification
- Knowledge in HV and LV electrical systems
- Practical experience in mechanical, electrical, and automation subjects.
- Knowledge in UK regulations (including LOLER, PSSR, PUWER, DSEAR, etc), and experience in ensuring compliance in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of working within hazardous areas including DSEAR, nitrogen, chemicals
- Knowledge in Effluent and Water Treatment
- Experience in sustainability and energy reduction projects
