Job description
Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer required for a busy civil engineering sites across Midlands.
Our client is a busy subcontractor on a major project and is looking for a good Engineers to add to their team on site, working on setting out external works, EMH (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulics) installation, some access roads and other civils work.
The Site Engineer or Setting Out Engineer role will involve:
- Working for the main civils subcontractor on a large construction site.
- Inspection of EMH (Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulics) installation as per design.
- Checking that correct Quality Control is adhered to.
- Ensuring activities are carried out in safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan.
- Maintaining health, personal safety and environmental standards.
- Knowledge of design and specification of all Mechanical and electrical Building Services systems - heating, cooling, ventilation, controls, etc.
- Ensure that the drawings and specification documents contain sufficient, accurate information for construction of the works.
- Coordinate meetings between client and contractor.
- Coordinate between site team and design team.
- Resolving technical problems at all levels.
- All setting out on site.
- Provide accurate and clear setting out for works. Maintain material reconciliation figures for reporting.
- Communicate with foremen and gangers to ensure full understanding of information provided.
- Arrange formal checking of setting out.
- Site surveys, as-built, inspections and monitor site works.
- Attending meetings on behalf of the main contractor.
- Working with the management team.
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- A degree in Civil engineering, Mechanical engineering or Electrical engineering
- Good Knowledge in Auto Cad
- Good construction engineering background
- 5+ year's experience in construction industry
- CSCS card
- Strong setting out experience
The following are desirable requirements:
- Successful experience at Assistant engineer level.
- Working towards achieving ICE Technician or Incorporated (preferred) level or equivalent.
- Able to articulate engineering concepts verbally to stakeholders and in written communication.
- IT Skills: Microsoft Office, Excel and Word proficiency
