Why Manchester?
There has never been a more exciting time to join our Manchester Brewery. We are firmly planted in the community thanks to a number of investments in the site over the past few years, totalling more than £70 Million. Our brewery remains a pivotal part of our UK supply chain network, producing around five million hectolitres per year of Foster’s, Kronenbourg 1664 – and, more recently – Heineken®. We’re delighted to have been given the quality seal of approval from our Amsterdam Head Office to brew Heineken on our site – and as a bonus, we’re making our carbon footprint smaller in the process.
What’s the role?
As a Shift Manager, you will be leading a shift team to deliver the logistics KPI targets for the site. In this role safety will be your number one priority – you will actively contribute to our Zero Accident Culture through leading by example. You will lead with a passion for quality by ensuring your people have the skills and capability to complete Quality assurance and control checks as required. You will constructively lead Daily Control System meetings and shift handovers. With a desire to learn, you will build up a full understanding of the role and how it fits into the broader Heineken supply chain. This understanding will allow you to actively contribute to improving the financial impact of operational performance – your responsibility will be monitoring and minimising raw material and product loss and controlling stock levels accurately. This is a people manager role and requires an individual who exhibits the behaviours outlined in our Leadership Expectations - That’s an important part of the role!
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for a leader who is self motivated, positive and ready to engage and lead a team of experience technical operators. You’ll be in charge of encouraging and ensuring they have the right skills, behaviours, development and support to drive brilliant results. On top of that you’ll have:
- Previous experience in high-speed packaging lines
- Previous experience of people management
- High attention to detail with health and safety as priority

Caring for people & the planet is one of our core values and we understand that each of our colleagues’ needs and circumstances are different. This is why we have a smarter working policy in place which includes access to hybrid working, flexible start and finish times and condensed hours, to name a few.
Our colleagues love life at HEINEKEN, and we’re confident you’ll feel the same way – but don’t take our word for it. Search the #LifeAtHEINEKENUK hashtag on LinkedIn to hear from our colleagues about what makes HEINEKEN such a special business to be a part of.
