We are looking for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join us at our British Airways contract based in Minworth, Birmingham, on a full-time, permanent basis. You’ll provide leadership and guidance for the shift warehouse team, ensuring that they have all the tools they need to do their role and that the operation runs smoothly.
The Shift Manager role covers an any 5 from 7 day working schedule over rotational 2 x shift patters of 0600 – 1430 and 1330 – 2200.

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £34,500 per annum,. In addition, we also offer 33 days annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays, private healthcare, a dental plan, a workplace pension, our GXO University which provides you the opportunity to learn new skills and gain qualifications at a pace that you’re comfortable with.
What you’ll do on a typical day:
Efficient planning of staffing levels to meet production targets, considering overtime or holiday cover requirements.- Encourage and provide guidance to employees to ensure operational targets are met, identify and manage performance issues in accordance with company policy.
- Co-ordinate customer requirements, ensuring procedural conformance, customer satisfaction and that contractual obligations are met
- To organise, prioritise and manage the activities within the operation to ensure deadlines are met
- To control costs and embrace a culture of continuous improvement, constantly looking for cost cutting initiatives
- To effectively delegate tasks to direct reports to ensure overall shift objectives are met
What you need to succeed at GXO:
Excellent leadership qualities- Confident decision maker;
- Excellent people management and motivational skills.
- Knowledge of WMS systems
- Minimum of 2 years middle management in a similar role.
- A strong background in fast moving logistics with experience of managing a large shift in a warehouse operation is desirable
Due to the nature of this role, candidates will need to go through a DBS check process
