JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Sewing Machine Operator
Reporting to: Workshop Manager
We are looking for sewing machinists to operate an industrial sewing machine to produce curtains, drapes and scenery to a high standard to meet the customer's requirements. This involves working in a small team helping other colleagues. Full time hours are 8am to 5pm, 40 hours per week. Alternatively, part time hours are available either mornings or afternoons, 22.5 hours per week. Ideally we are looking for experienced machinists, however training can be provided. Hourly rates range from £11 to £13 depending on level of experience.
Duties to include (but not exclusively):-
- Sewing of material on sewing machine to form drapes (or other items) using the information contained in work instruction tickets
- Assisting with the inspection and folding of materials
- General workshop duties including assisting cutters and other machine operators
- General cleaning and oiling of sewing machine
- Machine area to be kept tidy and swept clean at all times
- Operating the eyeleting machine (if required)
- Follow all manufacturing procedures and safety instructions
- You must be a team player and willing to cover other areas to meet business requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £22,800.00-£27,000.00 per year
