An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic psychology graduate who has experience and interest in working with children and young people who have mental health or emotional wellbeing difficulties to join our SET CAMHS Community team in Castle Point and Rochford.
We are seeking a Assistant Psychologists to join our dedicated multi-disciplinary Community Team. The team works with young people up to the age of 18, we are a small innovative team where you will have the opportunity to experience a good mix of supporting the team Clinical Psychologist and hold a small clinical caseload under supervision.
Our priority is providing the highest standard of care to all of our service users.
Key Responsibilities:
To look at protocol based psychological assessments of clients, including the use of self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client’s care.
To assist in the formulation and delivery of routine care plans involving the psychological treatment and/or management of a client’s problems, under the direct supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
To assist, under the direct supervision of a qualified professional psychologist, in the coordination and running of therapeutic groups.
To manage an ongoing programme of audit of outcomes from treatment involving measures administered to clients and families at multiple stages during their care journey.
To analyse this data and contribute to the production of reports of outcomes for the team and for commissioners.
The successful applicant will contribute to the development and maintenance of the highest professional standards of practice, through active participation in internal and external CPD training and development programmes, in consultation with the post-holder’s professional and team/operational manager(s). The successful applicant will maintain the highest standards of clinical record keeping and report writing in accordance with professional codes of practice of the British Psychological Society and Trust policies and procedures.
NELFT’s CAMHS is for anybody aged between 0-18, living in the Southend, Essex and Thurrock areas and is free at the point of entry. The service is also for young people with special educational needs (SEN) up to the age of 25.
Any young person experiencing emotional wellbeing or mental health problems, (or any parent, guardian, professional or teacher of a child who is experiencing emotional wellbeing and mental health difficulties), may access our service.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
