Service Advisor – Transport Engineering
£34,000 - £38,735 + £500 Flex allowance, up to 15% bonus and benefits
Are you our next Service Advisor? We are looking for someone who can help us redefine what's possible for are Engineering Department.

The Engineering team protects, maintains and repairs Gatwick's infrastructure, from the electricity that powers this place to the giant plant rooms that heat and cool the airport, and there's some pretty specialist equipment on the airfield too!
What is the role?
The core purpose of this role is to assist with the control of workflow planning and workshop loading of jobs through Gatwick Transport Engineering. You will be required to take into consideration operational demand of individual department fleets integral to the operation of Gatwick. This planning and loading should be efficient, resilient, and scheduled to reflect the large diverse vehicle asset base at Gatwick ensuring that the planning can be flexible and can react to an ever-changing priority.
What will you do?
- Control the workshop loading of jobs through Transport Engineering workshops using ULTIMO
- Effective communication with Engineering leaders, clearly outlining the defined list of jobs and priority in which they need to be completed, the list should reflect not only the scheduled planned maintenance but corrective maintenance unplanned in an ever-changing environment.
- Ensure optimal performance of asset base including performance improvements to improve vehicle availability.
- Drive EHS culture across the department to reduce incidents & promote a safe working environment.
- Produces effective communication and reports to all GAL departments and third-party customers.
- Communicate effectively with Engineering Management on cost and contract management to ensure engineering budget is within framework and agreed SLAs are met.
- Accountable for ensuring their departments planned and corrective fleet work is always completed on time with minimal impact to the operation
Do you have what we're looking for?
- Knowledge of motor trade industry (Ideally from a commercial or PSV background)
- Proficient in Microsoft based IT systems
- Professional telephone manner and email etiquette
- Ability to organise and structure workshop planning, balancing demand vs outcome in fast paced department
- Experience in maintenance management systems
- Understanding of asset management processes and ISO 55001 requirements
- Strong ability in report writing and data analytics
- Development of maintenance structures and programs across multi
- Educated in either workshop planning / service advisory role or demonstrable experience in a previous role.
- Full Valid U.K Driving licence (Manual)
