SQL Developer
Glasgow
As a Barclays SQL Developer, it will be your responsibility to develop strategic data platform initiatives, within the exchange traded derivatives as part of the prime data services business. You will have the main responsibility for designing and developing database components for the data platform, facing off to senior stakeholders. For this role, you will also play a crucial role in the execution of the strategy, identifying opportunities within the strategic architecture within the constraints of business growth milestones.

- Providing highly performing and scalable reporting and data distribution across multiple data platforms
- Being primarily responsible for the design and development of database components for the data platform facing off to stakeholders in Technology
- Working closely with colleagues across Prime Services and other Technology and governance teams
- Working independently and/or with a group of developers to develop, enhance and support the data platform within Prime Derivatives Services business
- Ensuring the technical solution leverages common components, standard proven patterns, and engineering principles
- Working across multiple other business areas as and when required
- Expert Data warehouse developer with hands-on experience in design and development of data warehousing (data) components
- Significant experience in Data Modelling and Data Warehousing with ability to carry out data analysis
- Solid experience in PL-SQL or T-SQL with ability to write and debug high performing queries
- Good Exposure the ETL or ELT data acquisition techniques preferably using Informatica
- Experience in job scheduling tool such as Autosys etc
- Good understanding of middleware technologies such as IBM MQ, Solace etc
- Knowledge of Prime Services, Exchange Traded Derivatives or OTC
- Familiarity with any programming language
