Job description
As an SEO Content Writer at The Manc you will be responsible for revamping a wide range of our existing pages to better position them for search.
Responsibilities include:
- Reworking H1s and H2s to integrate keywords within content.
- Implementing internal links to and from pages with optimised anchor texts.
- Implementing alt-tags within images.
- Improving existing meta titles and meta descriptions.
- Creating template content above and below the fold.
- Analysis across SERPs to replicate and improve upon existing competitor content.
During this contract period, alongside the SEO stakeholder, you will be responsible for tracking the improvements across keyword rankings and traffic improvements.
You will be writing SEO content across a wide-range of topics, including:
- Events and Nightlife
- Gigs and Music
- Food and Drink
- Things to Do
- Sports
While an in-depth knowledge of the above topics is not required for this role, it would be preferred if the candidate came with a solid understanding of at least one of the above topics and a general knowledge of two others.
The preferred candidate would be based in Manchester and have good knowledge of the local area, but this is not required.

Contract length: 2 months
Salary: £12.00-£15.00 per hour
