LOCATION: Nashville, Tennessee
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary responsibilities include employee appointments/hiring, transfers, payroll, salary adjustments, terminations, retirements, insurance/benefits, attendance and leave; providing guidance and conducting training on Title VI requirements, Equal Employment Opportunity requirements, Family Medical Leave Act requirements; providing policy advice and assistance to employees and management; providing assistance and guidance to employees on insurance, retirement, worker’s compensation, and other benefits, as well as any other human resource (HR) related matter.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field. Knowledge of employment laws.
Experience Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of human resources generalist experience. Experience in state or local government preferred.
Competencies:
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including knowledge of EEO, ADA and FMLA are a must.
- Requires knowledge of applicable Equal Employment Opportunity laws and regulations, personnel policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of computers and Word/Excel required.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and scanners.
