JOB DESCRIPTION
Levi Strauss Senior Tailor
Lot 1 is Levis bespoke denim service, crafting denim garments form start to finish to the highest quality fabrication and fit. Building on the brands craftsmanship heritage, our highly skilled Tailors offer bespoke jeans, jackets and everything in between. Customers would have a one-on-one appointment with one of our tailors, where they would discuss the denim, threads, rivets, buttons and leather patch. After, a bespoke fitting would be carried out. From this, the customer's own personal paper pattern is drafted, which we store, to allow for easier reordering in the future
Primary Function
- To assist the Master Tailor in the production of Lot 1 jeans and other garments
- To manage the workload of the workshop and organise team to complete
- To complete tasks that aid the running of an efficient, well-organized store in order to achieve optimum profitability.
- To promote high levels of service to our consumer, always offering an easy and enjoyable experience.
Work To Be Performed
- Can sew all Lot 1 garments from start to finish and maintain the highest level of quality throughout
- Can participate in teaching Lot 1 tailors in the production of chinos and jackets
- Problem solves I workroom for other tailors
- Speed sewer
- Can work with Master in new product offering- both pattern and manufacture
- Hosts own initial consultations and begins to build own client base. Signs own jeans
- Checks in on Tailors fitting pinning to cast an eye over
- Hosts intermediary fittings when required
- Till trained/ VAT knowledgeable
- Can make patterns without supervision. Will work with Master on developing new fits and furthering business
- Can host tailor training in Northampton
- On top of harder administrative tasks and oversees lesser ones- post/ re orders etc
- Will understand workshop workload and adjust and deal out work accordingly, will be aware and on top of lead times and monetary targets and push to achieve these
- Maintain excellent customer environment. Use company directives to ensure store is always to guidelines .
- Can be called upon to host tailor training if needed. Has understanding of general goings on for UK Levis tailor’s shops
- Reflect the values of the brand with integrity and respect for others. Be seen as truthful, fair and trustworthy and demonstrate an enthusiasm and passion for the brand.
Demonstrated Professional Experiences
Essential
- +3 years’ experience of working in a bespoke tailors capacity
- Knowladge of the idiosyncrasies of working with denim
- Organised and efficient
- Knowledge of how to pin and fit in a bespoke manner
Desirable
- Experience of working with a with a team of tailors
- Good Written and Verbal English
- Numerical aptitude
Essential
- Industrial overlocker and lockstitch machine
- Bar tack, buttonhole, chainstitch
- Pattern cutting skills
- Speed and quality sewer
- A good understanding of Leadership and attributes to people management
- Fast-paced, high-pressured problem solver
- Has previously inspired and engaged a team in a common goal
- Has dealt with having difficult conversations
