Senior Support Worker

About The Job
Salary:£28,371 - £31,099 per annum
Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
Contract Length: Permanent
Location: Ball Tree Croft, Lancing

Lead by example and give daily support, advice& guidance to support workers and volunteers to ensure a focus on inclusion, person centred practices and building on people’s strengths.
Experience and Skills

Key Skills:
- Understand the needs of the people you will be supporting and their rights.
- Show an understanding individual situation and identify, develop and apply practical solutions. You will be encouraging and non-judgemental whilst building on people’s strengths that support them.
- Ability to provide guidance and instruction to staff and volunteers to deliver clear expectations about practice and behaviours, contributing to a person-centred working culture. This includes acting as a mentor to improve and develop daily practice.
- Communicate clearly with the people accessing the service and participate in basic conversations with family members, e.g. discussing safeguarding concerns.
Qualifications and/or experience:
- Minimum of 4 GCSE's including English Language and Maths or equivalent.
- Lead Adult Care Worker – Level 3 or equivalent is desirable.
- If you do not have this qualification, it’s expected that you will begin this immediately after your 6-month probationary period.
- Proven experience in a social care setting or similar service.
- Relevant organisational knowledge of systems, procedures & policies in specialist area such as safeguarding adults, health and safety.
