Location: Flexibly remote from one of our UK hubs (Bristol, Edinburgh, Harrogate, London, Manchester or Oxford)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Senior Developer for selected Python/Django applications, including supporting the Product Owner and other stakeholders, as required, on specification and design issues
  • Leading on the design of the software architecture
  • Assisting with support and development for other projects, as required
  • Presenting ideas for system improvements
  • Analysing user requirements
  • Working closely with other staff, such as product owners, graphic artists, UX designers, other developers, systems analysts and sales and marketing professionals
  • Conferring with project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities
  • Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going live
  • Maintaining systems once they are up and running
  • Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues

Summary of Role:

You will be an integral member of the Software Team. You will work collaboratively with the team, as well as client managers and creative teams, to deliver web builds whilst offering superb client management and ongoing support.

This is an exciting opportunity to ensure that Anthesis continues to grow our digital services through successful projects with exciting clients.

Key requirements:

  • 5+ years’ experience in relevant work experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Django framework
  • Advanced knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies, including Javascript, CSS, AJAX
  • Understanding of relational databases, especially MySQL and/ or PostgreSQL
  • Basic knowledge of Linux systems and commands
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in English
  • Self-motivation and curiosity
  • Team player with excellent communication skills
  • Able to work independently
  • Experience of traceability systems, natural resource management and/or the waste sector an advantage
  • Passion for sustainability – desirable
