What are we looking for?
Rotational Senior Radiographer CT| GENERAL
The rotational Radiographer will work as part of the team and under the overall guidance of the Radiology Manager to ensure the highest standard of service to patients, consultants and visitors. Acting in accordance with the standards of conduct, performance and ethics set by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
What will your duties include?
- Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and reporting status of the departmental operations. Act as a liaison internally and externally.
- Be professionally and legally responsible for all aspects of own practice, working within national legislation, departmental and hospital wide policy, Code of Conduct and professional guidelines ensuring delivery of imaging services emulates "best practices".
- Assist with the development of Caregivers with effective coaching and mentoring.
- Assist Radiology Leads to ensure Caregivers are trained on new equipment.
- Maintain a work environment that fosters quality care delivery, accountability and employee satisfaction.
- Assist implementation of new patient care services to keep the Institute market competitive and produce positive clinical outcomes; keeps abreast of current practice trends.
- Provide direct patient care in specialty areas. Flexible approach to working hours, prepared to participate fully in shifts, extended working days and on–call working rotation and schedules as may be required.
- Undertake relevant training and competency assessments, strictly adhering to agreed protocols and procedures.
- Supply medicines using Patient Group Directions, without compromising patient safety. This involves ascertaining the patient’s suitability for drugs, taking joint responsibility for the potential complications under the indirect supervision of radiologists and awareness of the clinical hazards and emergencies that such drugs can induce.
- Adhere to appropriate Health & Safety guidelines and regulations.
- Ensure Care Quality Commission regulations related to Imaging are adhered to.
- Undertake basic patient observations, recognise a deteriorating patient, and manage immediately and appropriately.
What we need from you?
- Minimally a BSc(Hons) Radiography, DCR(D) Diploma of the College of Radiographers or equivalent and current HCPC registration
- UK Diagnostic Radiology knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience
- Highly developed specialist Diagnostic Radiology knowledge, underpinned by theory and
- experience
- Knowledge of the application of different imaging procedures and how images are appropriately shared and stored
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
- Build and sustain professional relationships and work independently, as part of the imaging team, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Knowledge of the process for escalation of unexpected findings identified on images to ensure
- optimum patient care.
- Flexibility to work all shifts patterns between 8am to 8pm as well as rotational nights, weekends and on-call
