Distribution & Aftersales - let’s introduce ourselves:
As pioneers in the Volvo world for our new direct-to consumer model for new car sales, the UK Distribution & Aftersales team are responsible for everything from the point of customer order of a new car through to delivery and then from delivery throughout the ownership experience.
Our job is to create a highly efficient distribution and logistics process from the factory gates to the customer’s driveway and then to maximise revenues and customer experience throughout the ownership phase to bring Volvo drivers back to Volvo for their next car - again and again.
Reporting directly to our Distribution and Aftersales Director. You will be able to develop this role and build on your expertise to make a true difference for the organisation!

What you’ll do:
You will deliver the strategic direction for all Distributions & Logistics activities whilst creating an environment that inspires a high-performance culture. This includes responsibility for the management of UK logistics partners, including the return of vehicle logistics and port/PDI strategy and liaison.


Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing end-to-end logistics within Volvo Cars UK’s supply chain
  • Working internally with production, leadership, sales teams and stakeholders within both the UK and global teams to optimise VCUK’s supply chain and align it with growth goals
  • Building external relationships with manufacturers, suppliers, freight brokers, vendors, and last-mile carriers, and working closely with these parties to consistently meet deadlines as cost-effectively as possible
  • Ensuring operational adherence to the supply chain processes (timely processing, shipping, receiving, etc) and communicating issues impacting vehicle availability and financial budgets including developing and measuring key performance indicators
  • Resolving all urgent supply chain issues ensuring supply continuity
  • Ensuring efficient distribution of inventory across the retailer network and compounds (optimal setup) to support business needs


What you‘ll bring:
You will have proven expertise as a customer-focused manager, collaborator, and influencer along with demonstratable experience in a senior role within an automotive or retail, consumer-focused environment that has looked at strategic improvement. You will be comfortable taking responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance and be a problem solver that can demonstrate a high level of analytical skills in order to identify problems and come up with solutions and solve problems.



The ability to design and implement a logistics strategy is essential along with the ability to consistently deliver on KPIs.
You will demonstrate calmness in a time-sensitive situation and have sound analytical skills in order to identify problems and come up with solutions or recommendations. You will use your expert negotiation skills in order to arrive at agreements that benefit Volvo Car UK and experience in analysing metrics and making data-driven decisions.
