The Role
The post holder will work under the supervision of a registered health care professional and be responsible for providing personal care for patients and a range of clinical duties/ tasks, ensuring that at all times actions are undertaken by the individual following appropriate training and within their sphere of competence. Provide training, direction and supervision to junior staff.
What you’ll be responsible for:
· Work within the Outpatient setting, providing high quality, caring, compassionate and personal care to patients and their families/carers
· Work under the direction of the Registered Healthcare professionals and senior colleagues, both independently and as part of the multi- disciplinary team.
· Under the direction of a Registered Health Care Professional ensure a high standard of service provision within Outpatients, by practicing effective clinical and administrative preparation, effective communication and care delivery, prioritising workload appropriately and contributing to service improvements
· Developing competencies that safeguard practice and effectiveness in the role.
· Act at all times in a manner, which illustrates respect for privacy, dignity, equality, diversity and confidentiality.
· Exhibit professional behaviour and attitude at all times and demonstrate excellent customer care skills.
· Contribute to effective team working by being fully involved, committed and participating, to achieving own and others full potential.
You’ll have the following qualification/experience:
- NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, completed or be able to demonstrate equivalent experience
- Completed the National care Certificate
- Functional skills minimum Level 2 Maths and English or GCSE equivalent or working towards.
- Working towards or prepared to work towards obtaining a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Clinical Healthcare
- Awareness and understanding of importance of confidentiality
- Knowledge of Infection Control & Safeguarding processes
- Experience of working in an NHS Outpatient setting
- Worked at a band 2 Health Care Assistant level or equivalent
- Experience of training junior staff
