This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced E-Commerce professional to join our growing team. In this role you will support the overall E-Commerce strategy, taking on the responsibility of leading the team of E-Commerce Assistants and Merchandisers in implementing and maintaining all promotional banners, products, and recommended product ranges. You will be working closely with the merchandiser team to understand how customers interact with promotional and range activity to optimise or implement tactical activity as needed based on customer behaviour or product mix changes.
Who we’re looking for, accountabilities and responsibilities:
The role will involve working closely alongside the E-Commerce Team Leader, leading a team of Merchandising Assistants and Merchandisers to deliver:
- Product management: work closely with external suppliers & internal Marketing teams to facilitate accurate and timely addition of products to the platform. Helping to manage stock/availability including pre-orders. Supporting with analysis required to track and report product performance including click through rate, add to basket, conversion, and sales. Manage promotional activity and ensure products are given the relevant tags and that these are kept up-to-date. Additionally to contribute to and maintain a product launch/category focus calendar with the eCommerce team.
- Category management: Feeding into the reporting on category performance, product placement within relevant categories, maintaining and improving on the category structure, mapping categories as needed to drive a diverse range of products to our customers.
- Search: Reporting on popular search terms including failed search terms to identify issues or gaps in range. Ensuring that products contain the correct information to ensure their relevant inclusion in search results. Using search reporting to propose opportunities for testing.
- Projects/technical: Support with testing new functionality, feed into projects relating to streamlining e-commerce processes, contribute ideas for changes to improve user experience and customer journey.
- Website banners: Implement campaign promotional banners across our client portals, and maintain these through regular audits and reviews. Timely and relevant banner refreshes based on seasonal and campaign activity
- Stock management: Support in the maintenance of key line stock to ensure we always have popular/constraint products available to our customer where possible. Manual product creation as required.
- Supplier relationships: Responsibility for ensuring reports are distributed to relevant external suppliers. Support with product insight, run rate and additional supplier reporting as required. To maintain strong relationships with suppliers, by attending regular routines, working with suppliers on product launches and trading opportunities. There will be the expectation of quarterly in person meetings, alongside more frequent routines facilitated remotely.
- Team development: Working with the E-Commerce Team Leader to develop the team on both an individual level with personal development and objective setting, and on a business level to ensure we are well-placed to deliver the business strategy.
A bit about you, skills and experience:
- Minimum of 1 year experience in E-Commerce
- Minimum of 2 years leading a team
- A strong passion for retail and e-commerce
- IT literate with strong numerical skills, including job-based experience with Microsoft Excel
- High standards of written and verbal communication
- Influencing, problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Excellent planning and organisation skills with a high level of attention to detail
- Team player with a positive ‘can do’ attitude
- Energetic and self-motived
- Willing to adapt and take on new challenges, demonstrating innovation and initiative to suggest new ideas or ways of working
Please note this is a UK remote role and you must have the right to work in the UK to be considered.
