REQUIRED DUTIES: Responsibilities include: fulfill role as the security officer during his/her shift represent and be responsible for his/her shift to the site supervisor security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle understand and fulfill obligations and responsibilities of all posts investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities. complete State of North Carolina 16-hour basic security officer course within 30 days of hire. maintain daily activity reports on paper, computer, smart phone or tablet. watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons permit authorized persons to enter property and monitors entrances and exits assist customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner completing post order training and familiarization Expectations include one or more of the following essential job functions with or without a reasonable accommodation: be able to work overtime and on various shifts as needed; including weekends and holidays. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment) submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military Additional security officer duties and procedures include but are not limited to the following general orders: 1. Report to work on time and prepare to assume duties. 2. A pass down report must be completed and submitted at the end of every shift. 3. Perform all duties and functions as outlined in the post orders. 4. Maintain constant vigilance and situational awareness. 5. Monitor facility grounds and building during foot and mobile patrol rounds. 6. Report to management and local law enforcement any suspicious or unlawful activity. 7. Respond to Fire, Medical and other incidents as directed. Notify local emergency services if necessary. 8. Protect confidential information and communications. 10. Perform the required patrol routes as outlined in the Post Orders. 11. Communicate professionally and adhere to all company standards, rules & policies. 12. Report unsanitary conditions or activities that could cause harm to the CERW reputation or client liability. 13. Perform other related duties as assigned. CONDUCT AND DEPORTMENT: 14. A security officer assigned to site must always conduct themselves in a manner which does not bring discredit to the client or employer. a. Security officers are prohibited from engaging in fraternization with guests or client staff members. b. Officers must treat each person with respect, dignity, and professionalism. POST ELIGIBILITY: 1. Security officers must successfully complete all educational requirements and successfully pass all applicable examinations required by the State of prior to Virginia post assignment 2.
