POSITION SUMMARY:
Effectively lead the process of designing, building, testing, and implementing security protocols into Shopko Optical’s overall data center architecture and design. Maintain thorough understanding of complex IT systems. Remain up to date on the latest security standards, systems, and authentication protocols, as well as best practice security products. Define and manage security policies and technical vision of all facets of security throughout the organization.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SYSTEMS EVALUATION & IMPLEMENTATION
- Conduct vulnerability assessment on infrastructure and testing on Shopko Optical’s systems and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assess architectural risk and impact of platforms related to business and technology decisions; communicate implications and mitigation strategies across the organization
- Identify, research, recommend, and drive implementation of emerging and innovative technologies, techniques, and tools that enable the business to achieve strategic platform goals
- Track developments and changes in digital business and threat environments to ensure they are adequately addressed in security strategy plans and architecture artifacts
SECURITY ARCHITECTURE DESIGN & DELIVERY
- Plan and define approach to deliver security solutions; answer technical and procedural questions
- Own the technical aspects of integration and support the configuration, debugging, documenting, testing, and go-live processes while mitigating risks
- Develop, review, and approve the installation requirements for security platforms and solutions within the network
- Conduct regular system tests and ensure continuous monitoring of network security
- Respond quickly and effectively to all security incidents and provide post-event analyses
- Stay current with industry and/or macro trends related to security threats and lead communication and education initiatives across the organization
TECHNICAL SKILL ADVANCEMENT
- Actively seek out learning opportunities in new technologies, data interchange, programming languages and source data systems
- Develop methods for applying new technologies into the IT environment
- Participate in software development and the development of procedural standards
- Be actively aware of new software or hardware that would advance the business
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, cybersecurity or related field
- 3-5 years’ experience using security architecture methodologies and reviewing application code for security vulnerabilities
- Advanced understanding of security protocols, cryptography, and security frameworks (NIST, CIS, HITRUST, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of IT risks, cyber security, and computer operating software
- Full stack knowledge of IT infrastructure
- CISSP, CISM, CISA or equivalent certification preferred
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Fluent in a variety of software solutions and coding languages
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to communicate across all levels of the organization both in business areas and within IT
- Willing to share knowledge and experience with other members of the team
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to be flexible in work schedule as support for systems is required
- Able to participate in on-call rotation for system issues and questions that occur outside of normal office hours
- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels within the organization through written and two-way verbal communication
- Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Able to operate various office equipment (e.g., personal computer, telephone, fax machine, copier, etc.)
- Able to lift 10 to 20 pounds
- Able to work overtime, and normal and/or extended (evenings, nights, and weekends) office hours to meet established deadlines and support on-call coverage
- Able to travel independently to support Company objectives and personal development
