Scientist – Bioanalytical

Role: Scientist - Bioanalytical, Permanent
Hours: Full time, 37.5 hours per week

As a Scientist, Bioanalysis you will be responsible for:
Role and Responsibilities
We have a new opportunity for a Bioanalysis Scientist to join a dynamic and fast-moving team and be responsible for the bioanalytical aspect of invivo PK and PD studies. As a member of the bioanalytical team, you will be responsible for all aspects of bioanalytical support for PK and PD studies. The role will involve carrying out experiments to characterise rodent PK, PD responses as well as reviewing data and summarising PK and PD results.
Additional interactions will be with other discovery departments at various Evotec sites to coordinate sample collections, analysis, and reporting in accordance with established timelines. The team uses modern mass spectrometry instrumentation, so you will be familiar with hands on LC-MS/MS operation and maintenance/troubleshooting. You should be highly self-motivated, well organised, diligent in record keeping, have an excellent working knowledge of the drug discovery process and be able to perform consistently at the highest level.
Skills & Competencies
Essential
- BSc/MSc with 3 years of relevant hands-on LC-MS/MS experience in relevant scientific discipline covering biochemistry or related discipline.
- Development of suitable methods and interpretation of a variety of analytical techniques (such as accurate and nominal mass spectrometry) to characterise small and large molecules.
- Consistent team player with strong communication and motivational skills.
- Excellent organisational skill and close attention to detail.
- Working knowledge and understanding of bioanalytical assay for small and large molecules from within a discovery, development or CRO setting.
- Strong analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to both independently and in team setting.
- Sound knowledge of Pharmacokinetics as applied to invivo studies within drug discovery/development.
- A sound knowledge routine maintenance and troubleshooting on Sciex LC-MS/MS instruments.
- Ability to learn and lead the implementation of new techniques and processes at a fast pace.
- Communicate effectively between departments and contribute to the growth strategy of Analytical Sciences within Cyprotex.
- Good time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
Preferred but not essential
- Experience with Analyst™and/or MassLynx™ or other Mass Spectrometry data-acquisition software packages.
