Your Opportunity

BDO Canada is looking for a Senior Manager, IT / Technology Due Diligence to join our Digital Advisory team. The individual will be responsible for leading and building out BDO's new IT Due Diligence Practice and should come with deep experience in IT and Mergers & Acquisitions due diligence consulting. This is an ideal opportunity for a candidate who is interested in moving into a strategic senior leadership role with a clear path to partnership, with the ability to build out a new practice from its inception.

The Senior Manager will own the following responsibilities:

  • Lead IT/technology due diligence engagements aimed at supporting private capital funds and corporations, including assessments of IT infrastructure, cybersecurity practices, IT costs, technical debt, data management practices, software and licensing, cloud vs. physical presence, disaster recovery and business continuity plans, and alignment of IT and strategy

  • Conduct interviews with management to generate meaningful insights to support our clients' investment thesis and identifying key deal risks and opportunities from a technology perspective

  • Lead the preparation and review of deal-focused reports and presentations for clients highlighting key findings and the drivers / risks to earnings and cash-flows

  • Identify post-acquisition action steps to achieve anticipated earnings/cash flow improvements and evaluate effects of seasonality on cash flow requirements; perform industry and company research

  • Lead project management and deal teams for successful execution of engagements and positive client outcomes

  • Coach, develop and mentor staff for high performance and contribute to a learning environment

  • Generate new business opportunities within the Digital Advisory practice and BDO in general, developing long-term relationships and networks

  • Be entrepreneurial in nature to drive growth and practice management in our growing team

  • You will understand the industries BDO services and contribute to the group's advancement.

  • You will ensure work is complete, accurate and appropriately reviewed by maintaining the necessary technical knowledge and professional development.

  • You will recommend and implement quality or efficiency improvements to our engagements.

  • You will actively engage in communication with people leaders to ensure understanding of performance and development, while identifying and attracting top talent.

  • You will support our firm's revenue growth by referring clients to other services lines and new clients to BDO.

Your experience and education

  • Minimum of 5 years of deal experience in IT/technology due diligence, some of which must have been at a supervisory level

  • Familiarity with international and US markets is considered an asset

  • Experience with VBAs, Macros, Power Pivot, Power Query and Power BI an asset

  • CPA, CBV, CFA, ITIL designations are an asset

  • Experience managing multi-dimensional teams

  • Desire to be a leader in a high growth, building business

  • Motivated, detail-oriented, autonomous, rigorous and able to work under pressure

  • Strong work initiative and the ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas.

  • Motivated to be market facing and driving relationships that lead to future work.
