Do you have a passion and commitment for improving education and wellbeing for children and young people who have special educational needs?
This is an exciting post within the Medical Needs & Hospital Education Service which is based in our new S19 provision focused on educating and supporting the wellbeing of children and young people with special educational needs who are awaiting a school place. We are seeking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join our team of enthusiastic professionals.
You will:
- To work under the direction of the the S19 Teacher in Charge and in partnership with the S19 teacher(s) and HLTA(s) tosupport children and young people in the S19 provision with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilitiesby undertaking work which enables access to learning for pupils with special educational needs as part of a teacher planned approach.
- Promote learning and improve outcomes in line with the National Curriculum expectations and SEND Codes of Practice.
- To work directly with individual CYP or groups with special educational needs and disabilities in or out of the learning environment to ensure that learning continues whilst awaiting a school place under the direction of the S19 teacher(s) and Teacher in Charge.
Please be aware that this post is working with pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs rather than within the Medical Needs & Hospital Education section of the provision.
