Brief Description

As a Roster Clerk, youll make sure that 80 -100 maintenance colleagues are in the right place at the right time completing essential maintenance activities so that we can continue to deliver a safe, efficient service for our passengers and freight customers.
About the role (External)
This is a new role which has come about as part of our drive to modernise our maintenance function. Whilst it would be great to have applicants who have experience of rostering staff, were happy to consider applications from candidates with the right mix of skills including:
- Fantastic attention to detail
- Determination and curiosity to solve problems or puzzles
- Ability to plan, yet just as comfortable responding to last minute changes
- Can manage various activities at one time, with knowing how to prioritise in order to get them done
- Remains calm under pressure
- Confident using IT especially excel and word, also the ability to learn a new bespoke roster system
Since this is a new role, well offer a comprehensive, tailor-made training package including:
- An introduction to the railway, how were structured and how we work
- Effective & Efficient Rostering classroom-based course, to give you all the skills you need to set you up for success in your role
- Training in Fatigue Management standards and how to carry out fatigue checks
- Sites visits to depots, to meet maintenance colleagues and to understand any local processes and access requirements
- Introduction to relevant stakeholders (including Section Managers, Section Planners, Section Supervisors) to understand the business requirements
- Formal excel training

Our Drugs and Alcohol Standard has changed. All prospective candidates will be required to undergo and pass a drugs and alcohol test. Your application will be rescinded if you record a positive test. All positive drugs and alcohol test results for prospective candidates will be securely held on Sentinel database and a 5-year suspension from applying for a safety critical role, a role which requires PTS certification or a Key Safety role on Network Rail Managed Infrastructure will be enforced.
