Revenues Apprentice
Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term for 24 Months
Are you looking for an exciting new challenge where you can grow your career? Then we have the perfect role for you! Join us as a Revenue Apprentice, where you can achieve a Level 4 apprenticeship qualification paid for by us, whilst also gaining on the job experience.
We’re the contact centre that supports people who have questions about council tax, business rates and benefits. We’re the face of the council, dealing with customers on the phone and helping them out by thinking on our feet to solve their problems.
You’ll be provided with all the support and training to ensure you have a clear career pathway to achieve your full potential. Whilst the role can be challenging, it can be equally rewarding too, when you’ve helped someone.
The role is on a two year contract working 37 hours per week Monday to Friday with our flexible working scheme, including 20% off the job training which will help you achieve your qualification which will be a Level 4 Revenues and Welfare Benefits Practitioner course.
What you’ll be doing
As a Revenue Apprentice you’ll have a sheer variety of tasks to be getting involved with. Day to day work will involve you investigating and responding to enquiries from customers, providing information and advice to them either in writing or over the telephone. You’ll also assess customer financial situations and agree or recommend payment arrangements. You’ll also produce and send out bills, reminders and signpost customers to make the relevant benefit applications which may include making referrals. Where necessary you will be shown how to carry out property visits to deal with and report any changes.
What you’ll need
You’ll have a keen interest in working for Leicester City Council and be committed and enthusiastic to learning whilst undertaking your Level 4 Apprenticeship course. You’ll be a good communicator with some experience of dealing with the public in sensitive situations. You’ll demonstrate the ability to have difficult/challenging conversations and be able to identify problems where you can develop good solutions. You’ll be confident in using IT applications to capture key information in notes and records and be experienced in writing letters and analysing data.
