Job description
The Feed Warehouse are a family owned and ran company dating back to the early 90's. We supply a huge range of animal feeds, bedding and accessories. We have two stores in County Durham - Consett DH8 7JU & Durham DH7 8HX.
Due to expansion within the business we are looking for an enthusiastic person to join our team who can interact in a friendly manner and make our customer experience great. This is a full time permanent role.
We are a very fast pace retail environment with lots of physical lifting.
The role will involve serving customers using our epos till systems with cash and card machines , helping customers with their product selection and loading of their vehicles along with general retail duties such as stock replenishment, pricing of goods, date checking and general cleaning duties in store.
The role will be based between BOTH stores, Consett store DH8 7JU and Durham store DH7 8HX.
- You must be physically fit as the role requires constant lifting of bags (up to 25kg) throughout the day.
We are looking for someone who is keen to learn and happy to go the extra mile for both customer and business.
- The applicant must have an interest in animals, ideally an animal owner.
There will be a probationary period of 12 weeks (paid at £10 per hour) then if this is passed then you would move onto £11.00 per hour.
The full time permanent role will cover Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm (with one full day off during the week) and every Saturday 9.00 - 4.00pm.
We close ALL Sundays and ALL Bank Holidays. We also offer generous shut down periods over the Christmas period.
