Job Description: Retail Sales Assistant
Part time Retail Sales Assistant sought to work in Amor Cashmere and Tweeds of St. Andrews, Scotland. Amor St. Andrews is the sister store of Surjas Retail Group’s flagship store located in Pitlochry, Scotland. Amor is an independent and family-owned purveyor of luxury cashmere knitwear, tweeds and country lifestyle goods that has operated for more than a decade. Duties and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:
Providing high quality customer service
Restocking, merchandizing and sizing of the shop’s displays
Processing customer payments using the shop’s till and card machine
Receiving and processing deliveries
Preparing and posting of online orders
Routine stock taking and communicating stock levels to the businesses’ buyers
Knowing the shop’s inventory and recommending products to customers
Responding to email and telephone enquiries
Generating additional revenue by recommending ‘add on’ products to customers
Performing daily cleaning tasks
Cashing up of the shop’s till (dependent on experience)
Opening and closing the shop (dependent on experience and availability)
Successful applicants will have the following skills / experience:
Good communication skills
Knowledge of country clothing / lifestyle brands
Flexibility to work weekends and evenings (the business plans to remain open until approx. 8 PM over peak summer months)
Experience working in a retail industry environment
Ability to work in a collected manner while processing large volumes of sales
Attention to detail and the desire to provide each customer a professional interaction
Good time keeping and the ability to reliably commute to the shop (Postcode KY16 9UN)
The business is searching for a part time staff member (approx. 20 – 30 per week according to the seasonal requirements of the business and the applicant’s availability / experience). Salary is competitive and dependent on the experience and skill level of the applicant.
