Join our fun jam making team!
Single Variety Co are a family run jam maker based in Warmley, Bristol. We're multi award winning- Great Taste Awards, Taste of the West Awards and most recently winner of Bristol Life Best Retail Award 2023.
We're looking for someone to join our team and take responsibility for production of our delicious jams. You'll be reporting into our Jam Factory Manager and working alongside our very friendly jam making team of 4.
We work a four day week Monday to Thursday: 8am to 6pm. We're looking for someone who wants to work a minimum of 30hours per week between these hours (starting at 8am is a must). We are a Living Wage employer and pay £10.90 per hour.
The job involves:
- Prepping of ingredients
- Cooking jam to our required quality standards- following our written recipe and assessing quality during the cook to ensure the required standard is met
- Packing & labelling finished product
- Working in the warehouse- signing off raw material deliveries and packing and dispatching customer orders
- Clean and maintain your work area in line with the Company standards and Health and Safety policy
We're looking for someone who is passionate about food and quality ingredients and has a great attention to detail. We'll train you on how our jam needs to be made and then trust you to produce it to the desired standard. We launch limited edition flavours every month so there's always something new to make!
Ideally we're looking for someone with experience in a SALSA approved production kitchen, but if you're a food lover and willing to learn then we'll teach you everything you need to know. You must be comfortable with heavy lifting (20-30kg) as the job will involve lifting 25kg bags of sugar and finished product in 20kg tubs.
