Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Restaurant Manager/chef to join our team at our newly opened garden centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our restaurant, as well as directing the preparation and cooking of a range of delicious breakfast and lunch meals. We are looking for someone to take our restaurant to the next level.
Our restaurant is open 7 days a week from 9am to 4pm daily. It will be your responsibility to ensure it is fully staffed and determine your work schedule to support that, working 5 days.
Location: Prescot, Liverpool
Hours: Full time/Variable
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, including supervising staff, scheduling, inventory management and ordering supplies
- Managing budgets
- Design and plan menus, keeping them fresh and in line with current trends.
- Ensure team execute delivery of menus ensuring all food is prepared and served to the highest quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen and dining area
- Train and develop staff in customer service, food preparation and safety procedures
- Ensure that all health and safety regulations are met
- Monitor and maintain financial record, including sales and expenses, preparing reports for management as necessary
- Engage with customers in a way that makes them feel valued, ensuring that their needs are met
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a restaurant manager, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
- Background as a commercial chef running a kitchen and team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage and motivate staff
- Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours including some weekends
