Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic, professional individual with excellent communication skills and significant experience of working with children and families in providing intervention and support.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with young people, their families and their carers, empowering them to address various challenges, working with parents. Foster carers and their children in their homes and in the community, offering practical help and emotional support.
We welcome applications from individuals with a robust understanding of child development and strong experience with facilitating intervention with children and families. A person with experience of training and being able to implement this in practice.
This is an exciting and varied role where the successful candidate will be given the opportunity to undertake a diverse range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Undertaking specific interventions as directed by the social work team/s
- Supervising contact/family time between children and their family
- Provide interventions that including families with complex needs
- Participate in the practical implementation of care plans by working alongside the children, young people, their families and carers.
Skills and qualifications required:
- NVQ4 in working with children and young people, early year’s childcare or equivalent
- A Diploma or degree qualification Certified training in a parenting support / working with parents programme (e.g., ‘Triple P’ / ‘New Forest Parenting’ / ‘NVR’ is desirable
- Evidence of experience of working with children or young people in different settings
- Effective use of ICT, including working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and databases
- Ability to work hours in a flexible way, including evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the service
- Experience of working with people in their home
- Bilingual speaker (desirable)
- Hold a valid driving licence
