Job description
St Caspian Care runs a 3-bed therapeutic children's home in harrow.
Our approach is different from the standard EBD home. We work with young people who generally suffer from low mood, depression and anxiety to build up their self-esteem in a truly therapeutic environment.
The home has been open for one year and has just received our first Ofsted rating of Good without any requirements. The staff team is strong and most would say we work more as a family.
We are looking for someone to join our team and will be able to offer great career development opportunities as we are committed to training and upskilling staff and are opening a second home in the Summer.
Job Description:
To provide primary basic care and a nurturing, therapeutic environment to help the young people progress as any positive parent would want for their child. Acting as a mentor and role model to the young people, promoting a healthy lifestyle and championing their views, wishes and feelings.
Our candidate will need to commit to working towards being a truly therapeutic practitioner, in the model of PACE, never reacting to behaviours on a surface level, instead maintaining firm and fair boundaries, understanding most behaviours come from a place of trauma and can be unlearnt.
Our candidate needs to be able to work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues, follow policies, procedures and risk assessments to safeguard themselves and the young people.
