Research Officer
Salary from £38,313 to £46,148 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £49,614 pa inclusive of London allowance
This is a fixed term appointment for up to 1 year until 31 March 2024 and is part time for 4 days per week
LSE London, a research unit within the Department of Geography and Environment, is pleased to invite applications to the above post, a postdoctoral research position at the level of Research Officer. The post-holder will form part of a small LSE London team evaluating Healthy Homes, Healthy Lives, an Innovate-UK funded project that aims to fund home improvements for low-income owner occupiers. The approach is being piloted in five local-authority areas in London and Brighton, and LSE is the evaluation partner in the HHHL consortium.
The main duties of the post consist of developing a process evaluation framework, designing qualitative post-hoc evaluation tools (including surveys and interview pro formas),conducting qualitative fieldwork and analysing the results.
The post-holder will be expected to have submitted a PhD thesis for examination by the start date of the post, or other research experience that demonstrates the capability to produce independent original research. Candidates should have research experience in the field of housing policy, housing finance, management, gerontology, or related fields. Strong interest in project evaluation and/or housing for older people and a good knowledge of qualitative research techniques including survey design, interviews and focus groups are essential.
