Location: Flexible/Remote
Hours: To be agreed/Flexible/Part time (expectation is on average 8 hours per week)
Opportunity: An opportunity to work from anywhere! We are looking for a part time bookkeeper who is very familiar with the Xero accounting package. The role would report into and be supported by the MD (who is a chartered accountant and set up the accounting software). Since we are effectively paperless, this work can be completed remotely, from home. There would be no requirement to come into our office (between Southampton and Portsmouth) but we envisage at least a monthly phone call catch up with the MD to go over any accounting issues from the month. The role is flexible in that the individual could be self employed or employed part time directly by Kiri & Belle.
Responsibilities
- Bank reconciliations in Xero (including appropriate account mapping and VAT treatment for each transaction)
- Setting up new bank rules when required to make bookkeeping process in Xero efficient
- Monthly Payroll
- Quarterly VAT filing
- Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Submitting pension schedule to provider
Essential Experience:
- 3+ years of experience with Xero
- 3+ years of UK based bookkeeping
- Payroll experience for small and simple payrolls
- Submitting UK VAT returns
- Balance sheet reconciliations
Highly Desirable Experience
- A2X experience or experience with reconciling ecommerce income/VAT/fees
- Google Drive
Essential qualities:
- Friendly!
- Solid understanding of double entry bookkeeping
- Skilled with Excel
- Fluent spoken and written English
- Highly numerical
- Very high attention to detail
- Happy to work independently and to use own initiative to go that one step further to solve simple problems
- Embraces technology and paperless working with cloud storage
