Job Summary
Reporting to the University Registrar, the Associate Registrar serves as a key leader in the Office of the Registrar, with accountability for Records and Registration. The position manages the accurate set up of terms for registration and refunds in Banner, the completion of end of term processing, and applying select waivers for accurate tuition assessment. The position will also supervise the Registrar's Office Records and Registration team who has overall responsibility for student registration and academic history, National Student Clearinghouse reporting, Schedule of Classes, Banner Course Catalog and maintenance of the departmental website. Position will serve as backup to the Sr. Associate Registrar for the USG Academic Data Collection reporting, tuition reclassification and out-of-state tuition differential waivers.
Responsibilities
General
Collaborates with Sr Associate Registrar to create and maintain Smartsheets and Argos reporting tools and forms; and implement new technology for process improvement. Supervises the Registrar's office Record and Registration Team, which includes selecting, hiring, training and evaluating 4 full-time direct reports. Responsible for end of term processing including the operation of grade submission windows, rolling grades to history, course repeat processing, updating GPAs, applying I to F policy, academic standing updates, and initiating of dropping students with unmet prerequisites from future term enrollment. Maintains a thorough knowledge of academic policies and procedure. Interprets and implements academic policies, making recommendations to the registrar, academic affairs and appropriate dean/associate dean. Oversees maintenance of registrars office data production calendar for running mission-critical and time-sensitive processes. Assures the accuracy and security of student information and helps resolve errors on student records related to registration, grades, transcripts and personal data.
Curriculog/Academic Courses
Reviews and approves all Curriculog new and revised academic course requests to ensure alignment with program and university requirements.
Banner
Responsible for preparing the student information system (SIS) for course schedule building and registration through the term setup procedures. Preparations include building part of term dates, enrollment status codes, registration status codes, and refund schedules; setting course override restrictions and rules; and entering holiday schedules in the SIS.
End of Term Processing/Other/Consequences of Error
Responsible for end of term processing including the operation of grade submission windows, rolling grades to history, course repeat processing, updating GPAs, applying I to F policy, academic standing updates, and initiating of dropping students with unmet prerequisites from future term enrollment. In addition, this position represents the Registrar's Office at Undergraduate Academic Programs Committee (UAPC) meetings in absence of the Registrar. Assumes proxy responsibility of the department in the absence of the Registrar and Senior Associate Registrar. Represent the Registrar's Office at state (GACRAO) and regional (SACRAO) affiliate meetings and conferences. Other duties as assigned by Registrar or Senior Associate Registrar including working each Commencement Ceremony.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
2-3 years of higher education experience at the Assistant Registrar or equivalent level; 1 year of supervsiory experience; and 1 year experience working with a complex student information system. Strong managerial, interpersonal, supervisory and problem - solving background. Knowledge of Banner Student Module, Smartsheets and the Argos Reporting. Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgements on sensitive, confidential issues. Skilled in examining and reengineering operations & procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments. Seasoned in handling a multiplicity of tasks simultaneously; follow through on tasks and meet deadlines. Above average knowledge of the Banner Student System and UWG policies. Proven ability to lead projects and implement new functionality and /or systems.

Masters preferred.
Preferred Experience
Experience in the Records and Registration functions of the Registrar's Office. Two years experience at an Assistant Registrar level preferably at UWG.
Proposed Salary
$60,100.00 annually, paid on a monthly basis.

KNOWLEDGE
Above average knowledge of the Banner Registration, Catalog and Course Section modules. Ability to learn complex processes and table setups including Registration, End of Term, National Student Clearinghouse and Wait listing.
SKILLS
Part of the Registrar's leadership team who will work with the Registrar concerning budgetary matters and participate in development of assigned budgets.
