POSITION TITLE: FRAGRANCE & HTM ASSITANT PRODUCT MANAGER, Estee Lauder, Aramis & AERIN Beauty
POSITION SUMMARY:
Drive, develop & implement UK & Ireland Estee Lauder FRAGRANCE & HTM strategy- a pivotal and exciting role for the brand as we embark on new innovation within the Fragrance category, drive double-digit growth & be the gifting authority at key HTM moment s e.g. Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day & Father’s Day.
This role drives Product, Pricing and Regional Marketing Strategy to meet growth targets and market share gains across an omni-channel environment.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
§ Support the Product Manager in the development of the UK Marketing Calendar, contributing market analysis insights and collating considerations from stakeholders to inform decision making across our full omni-channel environment.
§ Develop strong working relationships with all cross-functional groups to ensure the successful and effective implementation of the Marketing Calendar.
§ Lead the execution of the always on support strategy behind basic business and hero products, making recommendations to optimize investments and activations.
§ Support the new launch forecasting process, contributing insights & competitor benchmarks to guide volume estimates for fragrance & Christmas.
§ Build pricing proposals for new launches, analyzing the market landscape, brand architecture and commercial ambition to inform a strategic approach.
§ Drive competitive insights and trends: Analyse Estee Lauder and competitor NPD data to assess performance within the market and determine needs and opportunities for Fragrance & HTM’s.
BUSINESS PLANNING & STRATEGY
§ Evaluate basic line product distribution and build proposals to optimise productivity, channel differentiation and consumer experience, aligning all stakeholders.
§ Lead the development of bespoke product line ups for new distribution channels and refits as needed.
§ Manage excess stock levels to drive budget efficiency, maintaining volume less than 5% of inventory. Oversee the Marketing Coordinator in execution of excess depletion plans.
§ Support the annual line edit process with performance insights, productivity analysis and recommendations for additional local discontinuations.
NEW LAUNCH MANAGEMENT
§ Oversee timely execution of the marketing calendar as directed by the Product Manager, in accordance with brand objectives.
§ Support the Product Manager with insight generation to guide strategic planning around innovation, kits, sampling, collections & collaborations.
§ Support the new launch forecasting process by gathering insights & analysing competitor activity.
§ Support the Product Manager & Trade Manager in the development of locally produced kits as required, overseeing projects from concept /forecast through to retail /consumer experience. Manage financial planning including analysis of investment and anticipated returns in partnership with Financial Planning Analyst.
PRODUCT POSITIONING & PRICING
§ Lead the execution of the always on support strategy behind basic business and hero products.
§ Build proposals for new launch pricing in line with brand Architecture & local pricing strategy, for approval by the Product Manager.
§ Include price change recommendations for Category and sub-categories for approval by the Product Manager
§ Manage the execution of the annual price change process, overseeing implementation across all channels and adhering to corporate deadlines and legal requirements.
PROMOTIONS
§ Build the promotional calendar, leveraging key consumption periods in the market, as defined by the Product Manager.
§ Collaborate closely with Trade Marketing, Online and National Accounts teams to ensure that channel needs are met and that activity supports wider brand objectives.
§ Forecast GWPs and other promotional tools as required.
§ Oversee the production of all supporting HTM / Promo, ensuring excellence of execution across all channels.
BUDGET MANAGEMENT
§ Plan costs for promotional activity, maintaining an accurate line within the COGs budget and escalating over /underspend to the Product Manager
§ Ensure that all product marketing spend is calendarised accurately & all POs raised before the activity commences.
§ Partner with Financial Planning Analyst to undertake a monthly budget review.
MARKET INTELLIGENCE/ PERFORMANCE INSIGHTS
§ Monitor new launch sell-through on an ongoing basis to identify risks and opportunities and to shape ongoing launch support.
§ Drive reactive planning across the sales and marketing departments to optimise new launch sell through as required.
§ Produce monthly NPD analysis to contextualise brand performance within the market and review results of brand activity.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Education to degree level or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in product marketing, with a strong understanding and passion for the beauty industry.
- Strong commercial acumen with thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and market /consumer trends.
- Thorough knowledge of the new launch management process and ability to manage projects from concept / forecast through to retail / consumer experience, aligning all stakeholders to ensure excellence in execution.
- Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fast-paced environment, driving momentum on projects and proactively planning ahead.
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills:
- Strong team player able to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Comfortable working with people at all levels of the organisation and able to develop working relationships across the corporation (including in the field).
- Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, and comfortable delivering presentations to a variety of internal and external audiences.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills:
- Able to analyse and evaluate multiple sources of both quantitative and qualitative data to draw conclusions and make sound, well-reasoned business recommendations.
