Joining TUI Airways as part of the Customer Delivery leadership team you will be directly accountable for the management and leadership of Gatwick base, you will lead a team of experts including a large remote Cabin Crew community to ensure that TUI Airways delivers industry leading standards for on board customer experience, inflight revenue sales and colleague engagement.

Flexibility will be required to undertake the shift-based nature of this role with a commitment to on-call responsibilities. Due to the highly operational nature, the role will be based onsite at Gatwick with very limited opportunity to work remotely.

ABOUT THE JOB

Provide visible leadership by displaying behaviours, demonstrated through robust training and development, to inspire and influence your management team ensuring that every opportunity is taken to maintain and enhance engagement
Be at the heart of decision making to develop, implement and lead the overall strategy for Gatwick ensuring that you and your wider team directly contribute to the airline vision and 5-year plan
Be accountable as a leader of change for proactively seeking ways to drive improvements in your area
Provide strategic direction to your teams to achieve operational excellence and total cost of delivery KPIs with a focus on driving a culture of industry leading on-board customer experience and achievement of in-flight revenue
Embed the Long-Haul proposition growth strategy to meet business targets through inspirational and engaging leadership and investing time in your front line teams to complement the existing Short and Mid haul performance which is at the core of your accountability
Accountable for people development and performance management you will also provide support and guidance to your direct reports using all available data and analytics to effectively enable them to manage, coach and develop their cabin crew communities
Work in collaboration with Divisional Manager Cabin Crew Operations to build relationships and trust with stakeholders from across Northern Region Airlines and the wider TUI Airlines working with pilot management ensuring the consistent delivery of key company messages and engagement strategies within a remote workforce
Contribute to the overall customer delivery strategy and work closely to ensure that training, innovation and new products are implemented successfully
Foster and maintain a strong and productive Trade Union relationship both at local and national level
Be accountable for the overheads expenditure and budget for your base and help identify and deliver efficiencies within the overall customer delivery budget
Ensure safety, compliance and departmental quality systems are embedded within your area
Flexibility to work variable shift patterns is required which will include weekends and a rota which will be shared a minimum of 4 weeks in advance. You will assume on call responsibilities on a rotational basis.

Significant sales and service leadership experience, ideally within an aviation and/or regional environment
Tangible examples of developing teams, performance management and implementing change initiatives
First class commercial acumen with ability to lead inspire and motivate others to deliver a high performing remote team
A skilled communicator with the proven ability to influence colleagues and stakeholders across at all levels
A proven track record of HR, employee relations expertise gained in highly unionised environments
A self-motivated leader who takes the initiative and works collaboratively with a track record of motivating and developing a diverse and dispersed workforce
Strong analytical skills, able to work independently and manage projects simultaneously
An innovative thinker with the ability to generate ideas and alternatives
A bold decision maker, able to work in a dynamic and fast paced operational environment

Excellent organisation and planning skills, competent in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
