Contract type: Permanent / Full Time 37 hours

The Vacancy:

The main purpose of the role will be to recover unpaid Council Tax. Deal with customers both verbal and in writing, undertake tracing activity to move outstanding debts into a recovery profile or plan.

Note: previous experience of Council Tax is desirable but not an absolute requirement and training will be provided.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Process recovery documents for Council tax accounts\payers within Liberata operational model
  • Process full range of duties for revenues Level 1 officer role
  • Ensure accounts are amended at the earliest opportunity
  • Undertake tracing function for account payers\debtors
  • Liaise with internal / external departments
  • Review accounts for Committal / high end recovery ie Charging Orders
  • Process recovery documents received via NEC’s Iworld and DMS system (Information @ Work)
  • Ensure requests for supporting evidence are clear and concise.
  • Ensure work is in line with GDPR guidelines
  • Ensure the Performance Management tool is completed accurately and weekly performance table provided to the Line Manager in a timely manner
  • Play an active role in weekly and monthly Employee review (121) meetings
  • Ensure knowledge is kept up to speed in relation to Liberata and site policies

Essential Skills and Attributes:

  • Experience of working in s debt recovery, revenues, or customer service field
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with minimum 5 grades A-C including English and Maths.
  • Experience\understanding in meeting targets and developing own performance.
  • Competency in use of various IT systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
