Permanent - Part Time - Receptionist -24 /25 hours per week
Tuesday -8.30am -7pm & additional 1 hour 7-8pm available
Thursday -8am – 6.30pm
Friday 8am – 1pm
Shifts may vary between our two sites 3 miles apart.
Please note that these hours are set and cannot be changed, pay is £10.92 per hour.
Please note that you may need to work at two sites as needed as The Fairlands Practice has a main surgery (Fairlands Avenue) and a branch surgery a few minutes car drive away (Glaziers Lane, Normandy). The Fairlands Practice provides general medical services to around 14,000 registered patients.
We are looking for a part-time Receptionist with excellent communication, customer service and IT skills to join our friendly and supportive reception team.
As Receptionist you will responsible for assisting the team in meeting the needs of both the patients and the practice. This includes; assisting with Staff Rota’s, Training, Prescription Queries, Escalations, Patient Services and Process Improvements.
The following are the core responsibilities of a Receptionist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.
As a receptionist you will be responsible for:
a. Maintaining and monitoring the practice appointment system
b. Processing in person, telephone and e-requests for appointments
c. Answering incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
d. Signposting patients to the correct service
e. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
f. Reading code data on EMIS
g. Photocopying / scanning documentation as required
h. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required
i. Inputting data into the patient’s healthcare records as necessary
j. Managing all queries as necessary in an efficient manner
k. Carrying out system searches as requested
l. Maintaining a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
m. Monitoring and maintaining the reception area and notice boards
n. Supporting all clinical staff with general tasks as requested
o. Providing support to administrative staff during periods of staff absence
