Job description
As part of the NHS 5 Year Forward View, NHS England are currently funding a service that will see East Northants Practices offering evening and weekend appointments. Harborough Field Surgery in Rushden will be the Hub site for this service.
The Hub is seeking a strong minded, robust individual to provide a professional and efficient reception service.
The role will involve greeting and booking in pre-booked appointments. Although no telephone work is required, you may be asked to do some basic administration work.
You will be required to support Doctors and Nurses working at the Hub, and collectively all ensure the building is left secure and tidy at the end of the clinical shift.
Full training will be provided on every aspect of the role.
Hours to be discussed at interview
Monday – Friday: 6.30pm – 8pm
One week on, one week off.
The successful candidate will be asked to cover any annual leave for the person on the opposite shift.
5 weeks holiday, NHS pension, Competitive salary.
Key responsibilities
1. Manage, administer and deal with all reception enquires and queries from patient and staff
2. Manage and maintain patients booking in and out
3. Treat every patient, staff member with respect and dignity
4. Carry out duties that can fit in with reception work
5. Required to cover Annual Leave where possible. Full notice of request will be given
Communication

Delivering a quality service
· Produce accurate and complete records of patient information.
· Prioritise, organise and manage own workload
· Ensure personal responsibility that statutory and mandatory training is up to date, i.e. Health and Safety, Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults, Basic Life Support, Fire etc. This will be provided

Policy

The post holder will additionally assist with general administrative duties as required

This post may require a standard disclosure by the disclosure and barring service as it is regulated by statute. All Employees

SAFEGUARDING CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS
The post holder is responsible for safeguarding the interests of children and adults who they come into contact with during their work. To fulfil these duties post holders are required to attend training and development to recognise the signs and symptoms of abuse or individuals at risk, to follow local and national policy relating a safeguarding practice and to report and act on concerns that they may have.
