Department/Ward: Xray Radiology
Hours: 37.5 HPW Mon-Sun - 24/7 rota
Pay: Depending on experience
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, flexible, HCPC registered Radiographer to join the team at North Manchester General Hospital, to carry out general radiographic duties within the Radiology Directorate, including participation in extended service and on-call rotas, until the end of August, 2023.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- To undertake mobile and theatre imaging independently and maintain radiation safety in and around the controlled area.
- Assist in the clinical training of undergraduate radiography students, undertaking clinical assessments and providing written feedback to the Clinical Tutor.
- Take part in the out of hour’s shift duties, to provide a 24 hour emergency radiographic service to A&E and the wards, prioritising workload and liaising with clinical staff as appropriate.
- Take responsibility for the welfare and comfort of the patient whilst under the care of the radiology department, prior, during and post their examination.
- Ensure all requests can be justified prior to exposure to ionising radiation - as
- required by the IR(ME)R regulations.
- Review images and make a clinical assessment as to whether additional imaging is required to aid diagnosis.
- Ensure that urgent findings are communicated and the patient directed accordingly.
- Inform patient when the examination is complete and ensure they are aware of where they need to go or where/when they will obtain their results.

To be successful, you will need:
- BSc or DCR in Diagnostic Radiography.
- Registration with the Health Professional Council as a Radiographer.
- Knowledge of radiation protection, IR(ME)R 2017, IRR 2017.
- Experience working within the NHS.
