R&D Graduate Chemist
This is a fantastic opportunity for either a Chemistry Graduate with no experience or a Science Graduate with some work / lab experience to join our R&D team in a well-established manufacturing firm based in Peterborough. The R&D Graduate Chemist will be involved in formulating and testing new resins for our 3D printers. This is a fabulous opportunity for someone who is seeking career progression, as the role offers the opportunity to carry out chemical research working under one of our PhD Chemists.
Duties and Responsibilities of our R&D Graduate Chemist:
- Collaborating with the senior personnel to develop and improve our resin portfolio and ceramic slurry formulations for 3D printing
- Conducting experiments and tests to evaluate the physical and chemical properties of resins, including viscosity, printing time, and mechanical testing
- Participating in the development of new 3D printing processes and techniques, including the use of additives and fillers
- Analysing data from experiments and present findings in a presentation or excel format to senior team members
- Analysing and interpret data from experiments and tests, and present findings in a presentation or excel format to senior chemists and ceramicists.
- Maintaining accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations
- Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering and design, to ensure the timely completion of projects
- Staying up to date with industry trends and advancements in 3D printing and resin chemistry and recommend innovative approaches and technologies to improve processes and products
What we’re looking for in our R&D Graduate Chemist:
- Chemistry graduate (BSc.)/Masters or related science degree
- Creative approach to problem solving with outstanding attention to detail
- Capable of detailed record keeping and data analysis
- The ability to summarise work, prepare concise reports, discuss findings, and provide recommendations on next steps
- Genuine interest in chemistry and research
- Can commute to Peterborough
