Job description
We’re looking for an experienced Quality Manager to join our Commercial team here at Oak Furnitureland. You’ll be based in our Swindon office and we can offer hybrid working with 2 days in the office and 3 days at our suppliers/stores/home.
Reporting into the Head of Sustainability, ESG & QC you will oversee all aspects of quality from product through to suppliers; working closely with the buying team and designers at the development stage, through to the finished production carrying out prototype reviews and in line QC checks to ensure products meet all the necessary requirements.
Through on site audits, the QC Manager you’ll ensure that suppliers are meeting our set KPIs and adhering to our high standards. You will work closely with the QC team in Asia as well as other key stakeholders throughout the company.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensuring our supply partners products meet the thresholds of acceptability, with the main
focus on right first time and customer satisfaction
Establishing a clear and detailed Supplier Manual covering all key product areas to define
processes and documentation to support the business when working with suppliers.
Developing a culture of continuous improvement by continuously assessing product performance and improving.
Analysing and monitor product performance KPI’s
Build strong partnerships with suppliers throughout Asia, Europe and the UK.
Support line manager in leading the way on new packaging requirements.
Work closely alongside the Buying and Product Development teams, using your extensive technical knowledge of Furniture and skills to provide support and ensure product development is meeting the business’s standards for quality – as well as adhering to legal and industry standards.
Provide technical advice and support to customer service teams
Working with the ops team to ensure all product feedback is taken on board
Manage new products in-season, following up with issues, analysing returns data and carrying out store visits and supplier factory evaluations.
Support commercial function on the VCE Steering Committee
Skills and Experience
Extensive experience working in a similar role within the furniture sector, retail or manufacturing side.
Previous experience of people management and leadership role
Experience of working with manufacturing in Asia/Europe
Proven track record of project management success
Experience of working with manufacturing in Asia/Europe
Previous experience improving product quality and improving supplier performance
Proven track record of project management success
Strong communications skills with the ability to engage with all levels
