William Martin is a rapidly growing Fire Safety, Health and Safety and Environmental Consultancy, based in the Midlands and London, but national in focus. Our clients are wide-ranging and predominantly include multi-site organisations from a variety of key business sectors including, residential and commercial property management, retailers, and service organisations. We are part of Marlowe PLC.
Quality Assurance Assistant
This is a brand new role reporting to the Quality Assurance Team Leader, the role includes proofreading technical reports written by our team of national consultants. The role is full time Monday to Friday 9am till 5:30pm and will be home based. The salary offered is £23,000 to £24,000 per annum.
Key Activities – General
- Proof review of all reports (app-based software system/word processed reports in MS Word).
- Querying issues with the consultants that have produced the report being proofread.
- Correcting errors prior to submission for technical review.
- Referring and dealing with basic technical queries with consultants.
- To raise issues with QA Team Leaders where consultants are not submitting high quality reports in a timely manner.
- To deal with enquiries in a positive manner, always presenting a professional image of the organisation, solving queries or escalating as required.
- To ensure that all information on Meridian is up-to-date and reports are uploaded with client SLAs.
- To work within the company Quality Assurance procedures raising suggestions for improvement with the Quality Assurance Team Leader
- To ensure that the information saved to Meridian is accurate.
- To feed back to Meridian on issues/areas for improvement as they arise.
- To produce presentations, manuals and documents as required.
- Raising invoices to clients from Meridian.
What we think you will need?
- Exceptional English writing and reading skills.
- Minimum 2 years demonstrable experience of proofreading preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise and manage own work in order to meet deadlines.
- Experience of working with databases and IT systems.
- Comfortable with dealing with clients both by telephone and email in a friendly, professional manner.
- GCSEs (A-C) must include English; A Levels are preferred.
