Product Assurance/ Quality Assurance Manager
Location: TAS in the UK - Bristol
Principal Purpose of the Position:
The TAS in the UK Product Assurance, Quality Assurance Manager will be in charge of the Product and Quality Assurance activities for optical and electronic units and subsystems and systems designed, manufactured and procured by Thales Alenia Space in the UK.
The role will also involve supporting bid teams and coordinating Quality Engineering experts and other Product Assurance/Quality Assurance Managers.
Key Responsibilities and tasks
Management of Quality Assurance / Product Assurance Activities
Performing and/or coordinating the Quality Assurance / Product Assurance activities for TAS in the UK (write/review Data packs, participate to/contribute to/lead reviews, participate to inspections, manage NCRs,…), ensuring conformance to space standards, internal and other quality requirements;
Define and document quality assurance strategy for the project, in line with the applicable requirements;
Perform Supply Chain Quality Assurance activities (definition/cascading of Quality Requirements to subcontractors/suppliers, review of Data packs, participate to/contribute to/lead reviews, participate to inspections, manage NCRs,..);
Coordinate with the Quality Engineering experts (RAMS, Radiations, EEE parts quality, Materials and Processes) and Software PA;
Management of Work Packages, ensuring the quality activities are performed in line with schedule, budget and specification;
Document and manage Changes and Deviations of projects (RFDs, NCRs and RFWs);
Supporting bid teams by reviewing product and quality assurance requirements, creating or amending product assurance procedures in line with the bid requirements and preparing the estimates;
Contribute to Project Risk Management;
Support internal and external audit, including sub-contractors and suppliers’;
Interface with other TAS Quality organizations.
Ensure compliance to alert and veto processes in their projects.

Improvement Plan definition and follow up
Company Quality dashboard and KPIs
Lessons learnt collection and implementation
Skills & Experience
The candidate should have a demonstrable positive performance record in the following activities:
Management of quality and product assurance in a complex multifunctional manufacturing or engineering context - experience space preferred;
Experience in any of the areas on follows is desirable - Product Assurance/Quality Assurance Management for:
Satellites
Subsystems
Payloads
Complex units
A working knowledge of Space Agencies or UK MoD quality and product assurance standards and approach;
Knowledge of one or more of the following disciplines would be advantageous: RAMS, Radiations, EEE Parts Quality, Materials and Processes;
Self-learner, able to work independently with minimum support/supervision;
Communication and influencing skills to build productive relationships at all levels of the business;
Working in an international and diverse environment.
Qualifications
The job holder would be expected to be educated to degree level in an Engineering or Physics;
In addition to the formal education, a professional qualification from an institution with relevance to Quality & product assurance or Engineering is desirable;
Security Clearance or ability to obtain it would be advantageous.
