Role Purpose:
Senior Manager, Quality Assurance will be accountable for the overall delivery quality assurance for the platform and services streams across Index refactoring programme supporting the strategic objectives of FTSE Russell Index business.
Reports to: Head of Platform and Portfolio Services
Direct Reports: Quality Assurance Managers
Key relationships & committees: Index Platform TLT, Investment Solutions TLT,
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for the setup of quality assurance teams, policies, processes and controls
- Collaborate with wider technology teams and support the definition of a scalable and efficient test automation strategy
- Lead and mentor a high-performing global QA team of internal and external resources.
- Own risks and issues around testing processes, tools and resources
- Lead the creation of strategic and tactical quality plans to support the strategic initiatives of the Index business
- Build a QA mindset, focussing on effective test assurance framework to enable rapid delivery
- Accountable for end-to-end quality assurance across shared tech index platform organisation
- Work with the wider shared tech index platform organisation to articulate key deliverables and milestones
Critical deliverables
The role with be responsible for a key set of deliverables within the index platform refactoring programme focussed on refactoring existing and building new target state systems

The role will focus on building an effective quality engineering team to support the strategic objectives of index business

Knowledge & Behaviours
Technical/ job functional knowledge
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- Significant experience in software engineering and Agile based delivery
- Expertise in effective test automation strategies required
- Experience in leading and managing quality engineering teams
- Experience in building a quality engineering teams that focus on end-to-end code quality and support rapid change with confidence
- Experience in test driven development, continuous integration and automation preferred
- Experience in AWS or Azure preferred
- Experience in large-scale project delivery is essential
Business / Sector expertise
- Experience in financial services with a good understanding of financial and related market data would be preferred
Leadership & management experience
- Experience in professional people management / thought leadership in testing and quality engineering
- 5+ years’ experience in managing quality engineering teams
- Experience in managing third party delivery team would be preferred.
Personal skills & capabilities
- Strong team and stakeholder management, problem solver, a self-sufficient individual with an ability to be constructively address issues
- Track record for developing and retaining high performing teams
