Our business was built by passionate and committed people and now moveero Ltd, based in Telford, are looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager to join their team in a fast paced, primarily off-highway wheel and automotive manufacturing environment.
Role Purpose
Reporting directly to the Telford Plant Director the purpose of the role is to lead the purchasing activities for the Telford site in line with the purchasing strategy. The primary objective is to deliver the best ‘total cost’ through the procurement of direct and indirect material and capital equipment. In addition, the objective is to optimise material and information flow to achieve a responsible, customer focussed supply chain that balances product availability and customer delivery performance, with minimum working capital.
Additionally, the post holder will have responsibility for European steel purchasing for all moveero sites within the portfolio. They will collate a global steel market summary for presentation and distribution to GMs on a monthly basis to ensure we maximise opportunities on a global basis. The role will have a matrix reporting line to the Plant Director Nagbol for this element of the role.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
· Directly lead the Purchasing function at Telford
· Represent moveero ltd UK at the Global Chief Procurement Officer level.
· ‘Hands on’ leadership and analysis of the purchasing spend to identify and deliver cost savings
· Personal leadership and support for key supplier contracts and negotiations to include cost, delivery, payment terms and lead-time reduction
· Accountable for delivering budgeted purchasing savings
· Responsibility for the development of a co-ordinated sourcing strategy to consolidate the supplier base, minimise risk and drive savings and service level improvements
· Contribute to the development of the purchasing and supply chain strategy
· Develop and coach purchasing team to ensure the appropriate processes are properly embedded and support the development of the team
· Ensure appropriate KPIs are deployed to measure supplier performance and ensure processes are in place to improve those measures
· Encourage ‘best practice’ purchasing techniques are developed and deployed
· Hold formal supplier business reviews with key suppliers to ensure supplier performance is measured and developed and strong supplier partnerships are forged
· Ensure a robust supplier selection process, including comprehensive audits are in place
· Support site initiatives such as Health & Safety & Leadership development
Qualifications and Skills
· At least five years strategic purchasing experience, ideally including steel purchases
· Track record of delivering significant year on year cost reduction and service improvements in the area of both direct and indirect purchases
· An accomplished negotiator who understands and can coach others in the negotiation process
· Significant experience of leading and transforming purchasing and supply chain processes within a complex manufacturing business
· An expert in supplier relationship management demonstrated at senior level
· A detailed understanding of supply chain tools and processes
· Knows when to apply the appropriate tools
· Fully understands and clearly communicates supply chain concepts e.g. SIOP, demand management, MPS
· Understands supply chain systems and software
· Extended value stream mapping
Qualifications
· Preferably university degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
· Formal qualification in purchasing (e.g. MCIPS)

Hours of Work
37 hours per week Monday to Friday.
