The Autism Pathway is a fast-growing Autism Assessment clinic. The Assistant Psychologist will join a small team, passionate about mental health, well-being and neurodiversity.

On a day-to-day basis, the Assistant Psychologist will be responsible for taking phone calls, organising autism assessments, liaising with clients and other operational and admin activities.

This is a full-time role of 5 days a week.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about psychology and neurodiversity, highly organised, able to listen carefully, have a friendly and conversational personality and act on their own initiative.

This role will be hybrid, working remotely some days and in the Letchworth Garden City office on others. However, we will also consider a fully remote position for the right candidate who can visit our offices for training purposes and monthly/fortnightly meetings. The candidate will likely be in daily contact with the Clinical Lead to ensure the smooth running of the business.

The role is broken down into receiving telephone calls at 10%, replying to initial enquiries 10%, maintaining and updating the website 10%, invoicing 10% and organising contact and paperwork between the clients and staff 60%.

There will also be opportunities to sit in on MDT meetings and observe some ADOS’s including the possibility of additional training.

The candidate will required to have an enhanced DBS check, paid for by the Autism Pathway.

There will also be supervision given by a Senior Clinical Psychologist.

Role responsibilities

  • Engaging with clients through phone calls and email
  • To respond to queries quickly and provide accurate and comprehensive information
  • Liaising with clients to ensure they have a smooth transition from initial contact to final report
  • Chasing up clients for invoices or information where necessary
  • Using Power Diary/Google drives to manage the client pathway
  • Liaising with stakeholders such as 3rd party clinics, freelance autism assessment staff to ensure a smooth and informative pathway for clients
  • Collecting and scoring questionnaire data
  • Keeping our website up to date
  • Invoicing and keeping track of this
  • Performing general administrative duties as required
  • Any other reasonable requirements of The Autism Pathway

Experience/Knowledge

Essential

  • A degree in Psychology with a minimum 2:1 degree* (* not necessary if you are applying with a minimum of 5 years experience as a (medical) secretary)
  • Handling calls daily

Desirable

  • Previous experience in sales
  • Previous experience in call centres
  • Knowledge or experience in supporting clients to make informed decisions
  • Experience in working remotely
  • Previous experience working on a collaborative research project
  • Previous experience working in admin at medical or psychology clinics
