Job description

We have a fantastic opportunity to join an established team providing psychotherapy to adults with complex mental health needs including complex trauma.

The post holder will join colleagues in assessing and providing therapy to clients from the local area.

There will be a robust professional and clinical supervision system for successful applicants and opportunities for developing through CPD structures.

Some working between Crewe and Macclesfield sites may be required.

Part time hours and flexible working arrangements will be considered which may include some remote working including home working opportunities.

Main duties of the job

To provide assessment and psychological therapy to clients with complex needs with potentially a history of trauma.

To develop collaborative working practices with other local teams.

To provide supervision and consultation to relevant adult mental health services.

There will be opportunities to develop skills through training.

Access to regular supervision.

To provide a specialist psychological therapy service to clients with complex mental health problems which are often diagnosed as Personality Disorder. To provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation, risk management and interventions for individuals and groups as well as providing consultation and advice on clients psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other non-professional carers.

To supervise trainees and qualified practitioners as agreed.

To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures.

To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development, and research for the area served by the service.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of £13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.
