Your new role
The Major Projects directorate within National Highways has 2 vacancies within the South East Property and Compensation team for the role of Property Acquisition Case Administrator .
The posts are to be ideally based at the Guildford office, but National Highways operate a flexible working approach with hybrid working available once fully trained, and we can therefore consider applications from anywhere in England though routine travel to Guildford is expected.
The successful candidate will support the team’s work by managing a portfolio of cases to ensure that we acquire the land and rights required to build our road schemes in time for construction to start. You will need to provide administrative support to the team and confidently communicate with both external and internal stakeholders.
What you’ll be leading on
- Working with the Company’s legal and valuation suppliers to acquire land and rights that are needed to improve or maintain the network.
- Accurately maintaining the Company’s financial, property and administrative records, using the Company’s systems to comply with statutory and internal procedures.
- Managing work to meet objectives, ensuring that the relevant law, policies, and procedures are followed.
- Working alongside colleagues within the immediate team, our project teams, consultants and with our customers, building effective relationships to ensure we provide good customer service.
To be successful you’ll need
- Previous experience in the conveyancing process, compulsory purchase, compliance and governance would be an advantage as the nature of the work is complex and of a legal nature.
- A background in customer service and supplier management.
- To demonstrate a functional/technical ability to use MS Office to produce and maintain a range of documents and spreadsheets.
- To be a good communicator - both written and verbal – and to communicate at all levels.
- Have the ability to work effectively in an office environment or remotely from home as required, to deliver efficient customer service, support delivery and manage a supply chain.
- To demonstrate willingness to develop and learn throughout your career.
