Project Officer - Children and Young People Norwich, England

Norfolk County Council
Full Time Norwich, England 18090 - 19212 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

Fixed Term Contract until 1 September 2025 | 22.2 hours per week (part time) | £18,090 to £19,212 per annum (Grade H) | Norwich

Active Norfolk is part of a network of ‘Active Partnerships’ - organisations funded by Sport England with a mission to reduce physical inactivity, with the philosophy that movement and physical activity can be used a tool to improve people’s lives and Get Norfolk Moving. We work in partnership with organisations across different sectors - education, health, and VCSE to name a few - to collaborate on approaches that improve outcomes for the people of Norfolk.

We are seeking a driven and proactive project officer to create, implement and embed approaches to support children & young people to access opportunities to be physically active. Working in the Children & Young People team, the post holder will be a skilled communicator, building relationships with stakeholders, managing projects and identifying links to other areas of work across the team.

Key relationships will include working with Norfolk's School Sport Partnerships and organisations working with youth, as this role will be responsible for the delivery of the Norfolk School Games county plan. Following an announcement of multi-year investment into school sport and physical activity, there lies a range of exciting opportunities to use this investment in a targeted and impactful way across Norfolk.

If you think this sounds like you and you’re as excited about the chance to make a difference as we are, then we’d love to hear from you.

Active Norfolk is striving to ensure our team reflects the diverse communities we aim to support, so we welcome applications from individuals of any background.

In return we think we have lots to offer. There’s the role itself with the opportunity to truly make it your own, and the working environment at Norfolk County Council where we put work life balance at the forefront; offering flexible, smarter working arrangements, all underpinned by cutting edge technology platforms and equipment.

All our office-based roles are currently mostly working from home as part of our Smarter Working plans and to support the health and safety of all our colleagues. We anticipate that working in a hybrid way will be a key feature of this role going forward so we ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity - your office base will be Easton College.

This role is funded on a fixed term until 1st September 2025.

For further discussion and an informal conversation on the role, please contact Joel Matthews at [email protected] or 01603 729198.

We want our people to be inspired and motivated to work well together, make the most of our workspaces, enjoy a healthy work-life balance, and deliver excellent services to Norfolk and its people. Flexibility is built into the way we work, with hybrid working a key feature for many roles. Our technology platform and equipment are first class, enabling you to connect and collaborate remotely. We ask that you have in place good Broadband connectivity.
